GUEST LECTURE, 5-6pm: Simone Osthoff, Assistant Professor of Critical Studies in the School of Visual Arts, at The Pennsylvania State University. Her research and publications focus on Latin American Visual Culture and New Media Art and have appeared in the New Art Examiner, Leonardo, and World Art. Osthoff is a member of the Leonardo Digital Review panel. Among recent and forthcoming book chapters are: "Women and Media Arts in Brazil," in Women in New Media, ed. Judy Malloy, (MIT Press 2001); "Lygia Clark and Hélio Oiticica: a Legacy of Interactivity and Participation for a Telematic Future," in Corpus Delecti: Performance Art of the Americas, ed. Coco Fusco, (Routledge, 2000); "Hélio Oiticica's Parangolés: Nomadic Experience in Endless Motion," in Diaspora and Visual Culture, ed. N. Mirzoeff, (Routledge, 1999).
